Marcluint (patron of the Club), expressed the pleasure he'had; always left at attending any smoke conceits or send-off's to those going to the front, in which matters Mr Howarth has always been principal oragniser. Mr i. W. Rogers (Chairman of the School Committee), in endorsing Mr Belcher's remarks, eulogised Mr Howar.h's efforts in school concerts and also those for patriotic purposes, which had "always been highly successful and enjoyable. The remainder of the evening was spent in shooting for a medal, kindly presented by Mr Sharp, of Stratford. Mr Howarth, in responding, thanked nil for their kind present. It had been a pleasure to him to keep things going along as far as he could. The two years ho had spent in Cardiff were among the most pleasant of his life, and he hoped to see all again from time to time.
