HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE.
STOLEN GOODS. The.ro was a splendid house at His .Majesty’s Theatre last night to witness the initial screening of tno star drama “Stolen Goods.” In this hig melodramatic sensation Blanche Sweet achieves an artistic success in a most difficult part. Imprisoned on a false charge, on her release she becomes a nurse, and on Belgium’s battle-scarred fields she achieves that merit of reward that conies only to those who withstand the temptations and trials that beset the path of wrongfully accused. The scenes depicting the Belgian refugees leaving their homes with their scanty belongings, and the night attack upon the village by the murderous Huns were realistic in tbe extreme The plot is of an uncommon kind, and the ordeals and troubles that beset the heroine make it most difficult to interpret, but in the sweet, sympathetic hands of Blanche Sweet, the character seems to live and you suffer silently in watching the most emotional scenes. Other good pictures are “Welcome to Bohemia,” a Vita comedy; “Gauinont Graphic”: “Genoa,” a beautiful scenic; and a picture of the last reinforcements to leave Wellington.
