PERSONAL.

Mr William Mowbray, one of the most respected residents' of Lower Hiitt, died on 'Wednesday morning from heart failure. Deceased, who was 81 years of age, was born in Leicester England.

Owing to the death of Captain Richard Todd, director of the Commonwealth and Dominion Line, Ltd., m New Zealand, Mr H. W. Cony, the director of the company in Australia, is .a- present in New Zealand in control of the company’s business.

Mrs W. G. Malone and Miss Norah Malone are staying af Golders Green Road, Hendon, and the latter will probably be in London for about ayear (states a London correspondent on May 9). Mr Edmond Malone, who was wounded in Gallipoli, has received a commission, and has been transferred from the Wellington Mounted Rifles to the Wellintgon Infantry Battalion. He is now in France. The stay of Mrs Malone and her family is indefinite.

The Wellington record oi enlistments for one family is held by tbe sons of Mrs Mathieson, of Pctonc. Out of a family of seven boys six have enlisted, the seventh not being eligible for service, yet on account oi being under ago. Robert and George have returned from the front invalided. Jack is serving with the Australian forces at the front. Leister is undergoing his course of training at Featherston, James is waiting to be called up, and Harry was rejected as being unfit for active service. Mrs Mathieson has also had six brothers on active service, one of whom was killed in action.
