THE NAPIER MEETING. (Notes by Ciecro.) Good fields, and capital racing, should he the order of the day at Napier to-morrow, when the Pari; Racing Club will open {heir winter meeting. The Motoo Hurdles will serve to introduce several aspirants for national honors, in Bon Reve, Sir Solo. and Co., but possibly they will want seasoning, and Gazette, who showed excellent form at Gisbornc may he the elect of hackers.
The Petane Hack Steeplechase con tains the names of some promising chasers. Wooloomooloo and Bransfield have pace, and judging by their efforts over the-smaller jumps, should. have no difficulty in negotiating the Napier course. The latter, I hear on good authority, is most proficient. The Stewards' Handicap, of £2oo, has drawn thirteen acceptors, but the field on the whole is decidedly weal;. Kooya (11.1) has plenty of weight.
but if fancied by her connections should start favorite, llygia, who is the representative of a powerful stable, should also carry a lot of support.
I A like number, thirteen, paid up for tlie Napier Steeplechase, of £\3oo. Soporific heads the handicap, but may do 'letter after a gallop in public over the fences. Braoburn has done all asked of him over country, and is really well handicapped. Xaupata was light oil at Kllorslie, but may"do better to-nior row. Glenmore ran well for two miles at Auckland, and should strip well for[ward to-morrow. If Idealism were I withdrawn in favor of Vascular, then the latter must he good, but it may be the former is being reserved for more important engagements. Of the lighter weights Fagot, Capt. Mackay, ami Queen's Post should run prominently Braoburn, Vascular and Queen's Post may be handy at the finish. I The Ladies' Bracelet has drawn nine acceptors, and on paper looks "good" for Hylatus, although Silenus should also run well.
A number of good hurdlers are engaged in 'the Ahmiri Hurdles. Pursefiller, Styrax, and Gladful may provide a good contest.' A large number figure in the concluding event. Aurorc and Anzac are fast.
