SMUTS' FORCES PUSH ON
The Higli Commissioner reports:— London, June 21. (4.15 p.m.)
General Smuts reports that coluuinb of General Hoskin's forces occupied Haudeni on Monday aftornnon. The enemy are continuing to retreat in the direction of the central railway, after incurring losses in a rearguard action. In the southern theatre the column of Brigadier Xorthley's foree occupied Alt Langenhurg, Lake Xynssa, on the l.'sth. The following night an enemy counter-attack was driven off in a north-easterly direction.
OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION. (Received 10.50 a.m.) London, June 21. Official.—General Hoskins occupied Haudeni on the 19th, the enemy retreating towards the central railway. lighting a rearguard action with losses. General Nortliey's column occupied Altlangenburg, at the head of Lake Nyas.su, on the 13th. The enemy coun-ter-attacked, but were repulsed, retreating to the north-east. Belgian columns occupy the line between the head of Lake Tanganyika nud the south-en stern extremity ot Lake Victoria.
