WHEAT FOR THE FRENCH.
Melbourne, June 22
Senator Pearee (Minister of Defence) announced that the wheat board, through Mr Hughes, had arranged to sell to the French Government two hundred thousand tons of wheat at current rates, delivered in eqnal parcels over a period of twelve months.
STATE CONTROL OF BHIPPINC. The Federal Government has assumed complete control of all Australian shipping.
CITIZEN FORCES FOR TRAINING. The Federal Cabinet hus considered the putting into operation of the Defence Act calling on various classes of citizen forces for training. It has been decided that Senator Pearce will arrange the necessary data., when Cabinet will determine the question of where x-o put the force. SOLDIERS' PROPERTY. It has been announced that a regulation in the nature 'of a moratorium to protect soldiers' property is being framed.
