Ini the course of the excavation rar.de! .■ueoo»p#M«e-t(->- lay -new lymesr;'thV'TTiTl'- T men struck a onc-iucli water pipe.' connected with the main in Broadway, j Mr Sullivan investigated and discov-i ered that the supply from a tap on a j post at the Stratford Hotel was not affected hv the stoppage, of the inch-J pipe supply. The work on the drain I was then proceeded with, and the em-l ployoes shortly afterwards knocked off > their labors for the day.
