PERSONAL.

Dr. F. Truby King has been granted the honorary rank of major in the New Zealand Medical Corps for the period of the war. Methodists in New Zealand will learn with regret of the death, at his residence, Upper Hawthorn, Melbourne, on June 9, of the Rev. Henry Bath, who was one of the ablest ministers of the Methodist Church. The reverend gentleman, who was 77 years of age, entered the ministry in 1859, and was superannuated in 1906. A Gisborne telegram says that last week it was reported that Driver William Wallace, of the Army Service Corps, had been killed in action on May 31. His wife received messages of condolence from the King, Queen, Sir lan Hamilton, the Premier, and others. Now the base records announce that a mistake has been made, the man reported killed being William Wallace, of Thames.
