The' ; numbor includes the latest ten lisis covering the slaughter at Verdun, obviously to conceal the truth. Less <• casualties were admitted during the ' past four months than in any period . of the past twelve months when practically there was no severe fighting except on the occasion of the French victories in the Champagne.
