Scratched: Ihirakia, Bonnie Jean, Stockade, and Kiieaway. Won by half a length. Time, 5.12. Jervois Handicap.—Pendoon 1, Bowler 2, Brown Loch 3. Scratched: 'Salvia, Coral King, Heat Wave, and I Some Star. Won by a length. Time, 1.81 2-5.

The Otaki Maori Racing Club commenced it winter meeting to-day in (glorious weather. The tracks were somewhat holding, but the racing was good. j Haukawa Cup.—George 1, Lady I Louisa 2, Bradamante 3. Also ran: Rewi Roto, Kooya, Taringamutu, Square Deal, Orleans, Cold Soult, Mastor Moutoa, Want, Merry Gain, Sicily, Roumania. George led all the way and won comfortably by two lengths from Lady Louisa and Bradamante. Kooya finished almost in line. Time, 2.13 3-5.
Otaki Hack Handicap.—Maid o' Gowrie 1, Pall Mall 2, Paraon 3. Also ran: Cello, Pomeroy, Fore, Ballyhar, Merry Dale, Bension. Won easily l>y three lengths. Time, 1.46. j Kaliui Handicap.—Veto i.
