SITUATION UNCHANGED AT VAUX. XUnITKI) PICEM AmoOIATJON.] (Received 9.14 a.m.) .' Paris, June 4. The situation at Fort Vaux is unchanged. The enemy did not attempt to develop Friday night's advantage. GERMAN ATTACKS FAIL. (Received 9.14 a.m.) Paris, June 4. A further communique states: Tho enemy, after violent bombardment, made several attempts to turn Fort Vaux from the south-east. There was a heavy attack at eight o'clock last evening from a ravine between the fort and Dainloup, and they gained a tooting in our trenches, but our immediate counter-attack completely repulsed the enemy. A further attack in the morning at the same point failed.

A German communique says ; Everywhere we repulsed several British attacks against the lost positions southiwest of Ypres. Artillery fighting northward of Arras continues. We repulsed a British reeonnaisance, and easily repulsed a week attack westward of Hill 304. Hard fighting between Caillette Wood and Dainloup is proceeding in our favor. We took prisoners five hundred French yester-. day. -Several enemy gas attacks westward if Markich had not the slightest effect. '. • .'
