ENGINEER BREAKS QUARANTINE Per Press Association, >.(.«, Wellington, June 1. Replving to Mr C. H. Poole, in the House to-day, Hon. G. VV. Russell stated that there had been absolutely ho differentiation regarding the officers and crew of the qua rant neu Willochro. One of the ship's company, the chief engineer, had deliberately broken his quarantine, and had induced a junior officer to act similarity.. Another officer bad applied for I leave to visit his sister who was dying in'Wellington (he believed she had since died), and after the quarantine obligations had been ■ discharged in their entirety, and after the medical officers were convinced that the vaccination had taken, that man was allowed to make' the trip to Wellington. There was a desire that the engineer of the Willochra should not be changed at the present juncture, but when lie returned to New Zealand there was not a doubt but that he would be dealt with.
