At the Premiers' Conference, Mr Pearee' stared that the Federal Government did not intend to disband the soldiers immediately'at the end of the war. They would have to be unloaded gradually, otherwise the soldiers would be a menace to the community .and some might be left to starve. The conference expressed approval, and appointed a committee to arrange co-or-dinate action. ISSUE OF HOME-SERVICE BADGES Melbourne, May 26. The Defence Department has been instructed to issue badges for home service to the. medically unlit, munition workers, and returned soldiers. MARKET WANTED FOR HORSEFLESH.
