Roosevelt their nomination for the Presidency at the Chicago Convention on June 7. The regular Republicans controlling the, party machine object to Mr. Roosevelt's aggressiveness. MAIL INTERFERENCE ON HIGH SEAS. MORE NOTES OF PROTEST. Washington, May 25. Identical Notes, renewing the protest of the United States against the British treatment ol ! neutral mails on the high seas, have been handed to the British and French Ambassadors. They reiterate the objections to the seizure and detention ol legitimate .mail matter to and from the United States, and demand the cessation oi the seizure of vessels subject to mail and local regulations.
AMERICAN MAIL MATTER. STRONG RESOLUTION AGAINST BRITISH INTERFERENCE. USE OF AMERICAN FLEET URGED. (Received 9.15 a.m.) Washington/May 25. Representative Tague introduced a resolution in the Congress, declaring thai any interference with American mail matter by Britain should be resented by force, and suggesting that the American Fleet be employed for the purpose.
