H!S MAJESTY’S THEATRE. “C.0.D.” i The Vitagraph comedy entitled “C.0.D.0r “Three of a Kind,” provoked much hearty laughter at His Majesty’s Theatre last night. The adventures of 'the* three men and their wives whilst on'holiday are extremely funny } without overstepping the bounds of good taste. The story is original in conce^tifiu,land very cleverly worked out’ by a splendid company of comedians. “King Albert of Belgium with thO French Army a't tlie Front” is of an exceptionally interesting character, and the “Pathe Gazette” is also full of war news. Two line dramatic pictures 'arc shown, “A Girl’s Grit” and “The Man Who Couldn’t Sleep,” the latter introducing that line character ■. actor, Mark McDermott, An amusing cartoon completes a , strong and varied programme. The linal episodes of the serial film, “The Million Dollar Mystery” will be screened on Friday and Saturday, when the great mystery wili he solved.
PROFESSOR CLEMENT WRACOE
On Saturday, at the Parish Hall, Professor Wragge will give his special great lecture to farmers and all interested in tho land on the weather, local climate and coming seasons, with beautiful pictures, diagrams, and maps. None who live by the land can afford to neglect this unique opportunity. On -Sunday after Church, at the Town Hall, the Professor will give his new startling masterpiece on “The War in tho Light of the Eternal Universe,” splendidly illustrated; and on Monday, at the Town Hall, Mr Wragge will give his very last lecture in Stratford, the majesty of Creation, embracing the wonderful history of the Earth, the story of the Rocks and the Solar System; also illustrated by exquisite pictures. In tho cause of higher education, none should miss these great chances. Enthusiastic crowds have recently greeted Professor Wragge in Wellington and the other big centres. Radium will follow, and a red-letter period should be recorded in the history of this town and district. Particulars are advertised.
WINTER SHOW. Intending exhibitors are reminded The entrits adready reeeived are very tion close on Saturday next, 27th inst. The entries a Irony received are very numerous, a fact which augurs well for the success of the Show. Special attention is drawn to the increased prize money in nearly all the classes more especially the cooking, fancy work, and vegetable sections. Poultry fanciers are reminded that the North Island Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association’s special are for pigeons only this year, and not for bantams as stated in the schedule. The Show opens on June 7th to 10th. Schedules on application.
