FLOODS IK THE VARDAR. United Puews Associjt.o!*, London, May 22. A Salonika message says the rise of the Vardar river lias apparently destroyed the Strumiiit/.a bridge, which the Germans rebuilt. There has heen violent cannonading for three days west of the Vardar, hut the storms have interrupted communication with the front. . FRICTION WITH BULGARIANS. London, May 22. Mr Calvert who is at Salonika, says that there are increasing numbers of deserters to the Greek frontier garrisons. He states that the large transfers of Bulgars from the Roumanian to the Macedonian frontier is due to a continued shortage of rations, though, the Germans are well fed. The officers fear to confront the Bulgars except in groups, as the exasperated and hungry soldiers are liable to shoot when encountering Germans singly.
