PERSONAL.

Mr J. Hunter, formerly assistantmaster at the Stratford School and now rector of the Gore High School, is at present on a visit to this district.

Mr W. Dibble, Assistant-Fields Inspector, Department of Agriculture, was on a visit to the Stratford district bust week, inspecting the cooperative plots and selecting exhibits for tile winter shows.

Mr R. F. Harkness, of Mr Newton King's Haymarket staff, had to undergo an operation for appendicitis on Saturday, and is reported uo-liy to be progressing favorably. During Mr Harkness' absence, Mr L. Piera has kindly offered to attend to the duties of secretaryship of the Acclimatisation Society.
