WAR RELIEF.

MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Taranaki Provincial War Rolief Association was I'okl this morning. Present: -Messrs Wilson chairman (New Plymouth), W. P. Kirkwood iStraiford), Dunn (Farmers Union), McPlvillips (Manaia), Crump (Eltham), Beckbessinger (North Taranaki. Percival (Inglewood) Fleming (Patca). Bone afld Rev. Mr Tinsley (Egmont), and the Hon. See., Mr J. W. McMillan. A letter was received from J. Hislop, Under-Secretary, Department ol Internal Affairs, enclosed in which was ~ copv of the Kules of the Taranaki Provincial War Relief Association, bearing the minister's certificate, also copy of the New Zealand Gazette m which the incorporation of the Association was notified. Members expressed their satisfaction at the incorporation of the Association. J. Hisldp, Under-Secretary, Department of Internal Affairs, wrote forwarding a copy of the Gazette containing an Order-in-Conncil in connection With the transfer of the Wounded Soldiers Fund from the New Plymouth Patriotic Fund to the Association.--.Received.

'lhe Chairman reported that the Association's share of £155 for soldiers comforts for the last month had been forwarded to the chairman of the Advisory Board by the Stratford Society, pending the Association's incorporation. The Association had not vet received permission to transfer the money. , • The Hon. Secretary of the .New Plymouth Patriotic Committee, wrote statins that the returned soldiers in his district have asked; the committee to provide and undertake the distribution of a suitable badge for returned soldiers.

The Chairman said the'idea was not for the Association to spend its money in buying the badges. The returned men approached the New Plymouth* Society and asked that some responsible body should distribute the badges.
