Fowler (Waitara). The second competition, a sweepstake of 10s, with twenty on the mark, saw five claim nine out of the ten 'birds released. These were Messrs "Wildman", H. -Marsh, E. In a box shoot, off 30 yards, with thirteen competitors (three birds) Mr Alt'. Lineham made the "possible," Mr Whittle winning the shoot-off tor second money from -Messrs J. it. WHeeler and H. Marsh. The refereeing was in the hands ot the Chili's trustworthy official, Mr-J. M. Shotter, who gave every satisfaction. In the handicapping for the day, Mr W. J. Hamblyn had a thankLess'task, but he discharged the duties appertaining to the position without fear or favor, and he earned the best thanks of the competitors as a whole. Mr W. White (Midhirst) made an efficient trapper. Wherein all members both of the executive and the Club itself worked so well, it would he invidious to particularise, but Messrs Nelson and Green, besides granting their groundas usual for the shoot, were unremitting in their attention to the many details the completion of which mean so much towards the success of any gathering •■!' the kind. The President (Mr A. Stewart) was also in attendance and af ted as mine host to the visitors in his usual genial manner. With each succeeding shoot the Club is making great headway, and .1 is stated to be the intention of the executive to put on "something big" in the near future, the preparations for which have already been taken in hand.
