BURGLARIES AT FAIRLIE. SOUTH CANTERBURY BURGLARY. Timaru, May 17. At the Magistrate’s Court at Fairlie, two men named Barker and Ward, with aliases, were committeed tor', trial on three charges of burglary at’ Fairlie on the night of April 29. Thoj evidence showed that they blew open' safes at the Farmers’ Co-op. Store, and railway station, and stole over £2OO in money, and stole jewellery valued at £BO from a shop. Much of ■ the plunder was recovered from their j swags when the men we»v arrested near Orari railway station on May 5. Among the money from C.F.C.A. were several £o notes, of which the numbers had been recorded, and those were recovered.
