it. As, however, Cr, Smith had adopted an honorable course, he, Mr Lopdell, would unreservedly withdraw the actions he was taking, and would instruct his solicitors accordingly. He thanked the Council for their vote and stated that though sometimes he. might make errors of judgment, he had always done, and would do, his utmost in the joint interests of the ratepayers and the Council.
