There was an encounter yesterday between a force of British destroyers and monitors and some German destroyers. After a short engagement the enemy withdrew to their ports. Wo had no casualties. GERMAN MINE LAYER DESTROYED. (Received 8.45 a.m.) Copenhagen, May 17. A German mine layer was blown up at Faisterbo by one of her own mines. One man was killed, and a portion of the crew was rescued.
