POLITICAL PARTY CHANCES. RESIGNATION OF SIR WILFRED LAURIER. [Uniteh Press Association.! (Received 9.15 a.m.) Ottawa, May 10. Arising out of a dispute over the teaching of French in the schools in Ontario, Sir Wilfred Lanrier has resigned the leadership of the Liberal Party, which was divided upon the issue, the Western Liberals objecting to hi-lingualism in Canada. It is not anticipated, however, that Sir Wilfred Lanrier will he allowed to retire from the Party. PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS FIRE, FIRE IN QUEBEC. (Received 8.40 a.m.) Ottawa, May 2. The Royal Commission which inquired into the fire at the Parliamentary buildings, finds that there was much .ground for the suspicion of incendiarism, but there were no proofs of it. The Chateau Frontenac, at Quebec, an historic building was partially destroyed by fire to-day. RIOT AT AUSTRIAN INTERNMENT CAMP. ONE PRISONER KILLED. j ; (Received 10.10 a.m.) Ottawa, May 16. A ; not among Austrian'prisoners at the war internment camp at Kapus.basing, Ontario, was quelled by the military. One prisoner was killed and several were injured. The prisoners refused to work'and turned on their guards. j
