LOYALTY.
[To Thf Editor Stratford Post, i | 1 i Sir,— Surely Mr J. B. Hine has been rnisreported in his speech on the AdHe says the railway men have disgraced themselves in asking for Is a day increase in wages. “They should in loyalty have offered to accept a reduction.” The purchasing power of a railwayman’s sovereign (like everyone else’s) is now about los 9d. and as the Railway Department have considerably .increased fares and rates of carriage, surely in fairness they are entitled to at least Is per day 'increase. Practically all private employers have increased their wages during the war. I should like to ask Mr iHine does he draw full pay as a Memliter of Parliament and also Jos per day as a military Captain as well ? Should lie he sent on active service does lie intend to draw both Ids .Military and Parliamentary salaries : J 'Everyone should be loyal—including rnilwavmen and M.P.’s.—l am, etc., j ' C. D. SOLE.
