Per Press Association. Wellington, May .IQ. In the Legislative Council, Sir F. H. D. 801 l moved that Hon. W. C. Carncross lie elected Chairman of Committee. , He referred in congratulatory terms to tfie selection of Mr Carncross as onejof-the delegates to the meeting of th.e Empire Parliamentary Association. The motion was (carried without disjfpent. Hon. W. C. ‘Carncross warmly thanked the Council for their expression of confidence. On the motion of Sir F, H. D. Bell, votes of appreciation of the services rendered hy-tho? late Hons. H/ A. Miller and John Duthift, members of the Council, and MessfstE. G. Moss and W. F. Backhand, . members of the House of Representatives, and sympathy with their families, was passed. The Council adjourned until May 17.
