TARANAKI EDUCATION BOARD. ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES. ANNUAL MEETING OF HOUSEHOLDERS. A S provided by Clause 9 of the •2. A- Third Schedule of “The Education Act, 1914,” Annual Meetings of Householders for the Election of School Committees will be held in the several School Districts that failed to elect Committees at the Annual Meetings called for the 17th April, 1916-, on MONDAY, MAY 29 th, at the hour of 7.30 p.m., for the purpose of electing duly nominated persons as Members of School Committees for the ensuing year, as provided by Section 43 of “The Education Act, 1914.”
Whore the yearly average attendance at the school or schools in the school district for the preceding school, year has not exceeded one hundred children, the number of members of the School Committee shall be the; where such attendance is over one hundred and not over two hundred, ■the numbers of members shall he seven ; and where such attendance is over two hundred, the number of members shall bo nine. NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES. “Householders of the various School Districts are hereby requested to send in to the Chairman of the School Committee in their District the names of persons, being Resident Householders, ■nominated by them to serve on the Committee for the ensuing year. “The nominations must be in writing. signed by the proposer and candidate, and sent to the Chairman of the School Committee op or before MONDAY,' 22nd May, 11)16, not later than 8 p.m. “Nominations may also be made at the Meeting of Householders to he held on MONDAY, 29th May, 1916. “The first meeting of each of the newly-elected Committees for the appointment of Chairman is hereby enlivened at the various schools immediately after the elections.” By order of the Board.
