Interest is turning towards Russia, where it is believed the Austrians and Germans are preparing a huge offensive to break the southern Russian front. The great movement with troops, guns, and aviation and material progress is in evidence.

The Daily Chrinicle secured an interview with General Ivanoff’s successor. General Brusiloff, who is famous as the captor of 360,000 Germans and Austrians. General Brusiloff said: I am not a prophet, but I think eighteen months will be necessary to complete the victory. Russia can endure without difficulty, hut the German morale is undergoing the most serious strain. When the war ends, I hope it will end in Berlin. We want “victoire avec eclat.”
