-Mr E. Brocklebank left for Camp by the mail train this morning.

The Rev. J. Pattison, Mrs Pattison and family, left for Remuera Auckland, by last night's steamer.

At last night's meeting of the Stratford Volunteer Fire Brigade, Fireman W. Payton was elected secretary in place of Foreman E. Drake, resigned. The Ilev. J. T. Pinfold, of the Mosgiel .Methodist Church, has received advice from Dr. Smyth Vice-Chancel-lor of the McGill University, Montreal, that Convocation conferred on him the degree of Doctor of Divinity.
