The former blip •,contains a story possessing many romantic, features, and is of an engrossing nature.. The manner in which the truth is revealed form a most dramatic .finale, “A Child .of the Surf” of the daintiest love stories imaginable, set amid most beautiful scenery of rugged rockbound coast and stretches of bubbling surf. A charming Yorkshire scenic film is “Knaresborough and Fountain Abbey.” “Mon of the Moment" is a. fine topical, giving life-like portraits oh all the Allied- 'ndtabilitios engaged ip the -world’war, and there is a good sprinkling of -comedy items. Got-Rich-Quick is the comedy that should do no end of good at the present troubled times, a clean sentimental play, showing how simple it is to become, a millionaire, providing one can only find a sufficient number of boobs or believers in company promoters. The comedy is clean, sparkling, and unusual.
The season will be opened with “The Man Who Stayed at Home,” the thrilling Spy Play, which has already become famous. “The Man Who Stays at Home” in this case is a man who Stays at Home for a good reason, hut, being a Secret Service Agent, is unable to reveal his identity until lie has succeeded in catching the German spies at work. In this, he receives valuable assistance from Miriam Leo. The play is thrilling, and wonderful use is made of a concealed wireless plant, which Brent converts to his own use, and thereby ginks a German submarine, and .incidentally saves the lives of thousands of British soldiers, then crossing the channel m troopships. Mr Walsh will be seen as Christopher Brent, “The Man Who Stayed at Home,” and Miss Bonington as Miriam Lee. “The Man Who Stayed at Home” will be staged on Ihursday night, and the season will be strictly limited to two nights. j
