PERSONAL.
At an informal gathering of the members of the Stratford Rifle Club and Egmont Club, at the Egfnont Club on Sa.urclav evening, occasion was taken to farewell-Mr E. Brocklebauk (who goes into camp on Wednesday), and Privates H. Burmester and Chadwick (who were on final leave). Mr Camp boll .Jackson, on behalf of the Rifle Club, presented Mr Brocklebauk with a. wristlet watch, as a token of esteem in which lie Was held. Mr Jackson ieferreti to the way in which Mr BroekleImnk had acted as secretary to the Club for many years, and although he was going away, it had been decided not to fill the position, but to appoint a temporary secretary until his return. The speaker referred to the loss the Egmont Club would sustain in the loss of" the guests of the evening, and in conclusion he wished the men God speed and a safe return. Mr J. A\. Boon also spoke and expressed his pleasure at being present at the function. Mr E. Jackson and Mr R. Masters referred to the loss the A. and P. Association would suffer through the absence of Mr Brocklebauk, whom they said had been one of the ♦lest workers the Association had. arid was always to bo found at his place at Show time. Mr A. Mackay (Rifle Club), and Mr J. McMahon (Egmont Club), also spoke. The guests of the evening suitably replied. The evening concluded with supper.
