GOLDEN WEDDING.

<BQjDN-rWALTERS. A very pleasant function took place at the residence of Mr and Mrs J. W. Boon, senr., Buller Street, 'New Plymouth, on Monday, fake occasion being the celebration of ;he.-/50.th anniversary of their mama;;/. Tlioir four son.-; and three daughters were all present, in addition to other relatives and friends, the guests including Captain and Mrs J. W. Boon, and Mr and Mrs Alfred Boon, of New Plymouth, Mr and Mrs Jos. W. Boon (Mayor'of Stratford). Mr (and Mrs W. R, Boon, of Wbakatane, Mrs R. C. Wkitham (New Plymouth), Mr and Mrs T. H. Wilson, Mr and Mrs P. H. Webber, of Warkworth, Mr J. R. Walters, of Auckland, brother of the bride and best man at the wedding

'of 50 years ago. Miss Walters. Mr and Mrs C. T. Barriball, of Waiuku, and Rev. and Mrs Cannel], of New Plymouth. j At the conclusion of the wedding (breakfast and after ilie toast of tbe IKing had been duly honored, the Rev. Cannell rose to propose the health of I the bride and bridegroom, and in doing ! so referred to his acquaintance with th e Boon and Walters families in the very early days of New Zealand, and to the esteom in which ho had ever held them, and to the exceedingly interesting accounts of life in Auckland many years ago.

; Mr and Mrs Boon were the recipients of many messages of congratulations and goodwill, besides numerous presents, included among which was a gift from the W.C.T.U., of which Mrs Boon is a memher. Mr and Mrs Boon both enjoy excellent health {reports the Herald), and give every indication of fulfilling the hope of their friends that they have many years of happiness still hefore them.
