GOLF.
STRATFORD CLUB. THE OPENING DAY. The Stratford Golf Club held its opening day of the season at its links on ' the race course yesterday afternoon in fine golling weather. The course was in fair order, and some very interesting games were indulged in. Mrs Robinson and E. C. Robinson and Mrs Hogg and D. Hill tied for the prize donated by the president (Mr C. Wright) and in the play-off, the former won by one stroke. The President was also responsible for the afternoon tea, which was greatly appreciated by the players and a large number of onlookers.
