A Press Association telegram from Auckland states that Georgina Carroll, a widow, aged 50, who fell down * staircase in Lome Street on Saturday evening ami broke her back, died'in the hospital yesterday. j In the weight-guessing competition in connection with the big bullock at the Soldiers Day carnival on Easter Monday, Mr F. J. Curtis (Elthani) was successful with a guess of 15761b5, the actual weight being 1579ibs.
