The handicap wood-chopping contest, at the show was won by James Forsyth (Now Zealand), who had twelve seconds allowance. Mclntosh (Sydney), from scratch, coming fourth. In the sweepstakes chop McIntosh (scratch) was first and 1 orsyth (lOsec.) was second. BLOOD STOCK PRICES AT SYDNEY. •i Sydney, April '25. At the blood stock yearling sales bidding was somewhat slack. The Tressady-Formula and iiessaci} Sousie colts each fetched 150 guineas; the Downslure— Chutney colt 550 guineas. These wore the top prices. Mr K. J. Watt’s Maori King—Tatters filly brought 85 guineas, and the All Black—Tup-mo filly 100 guineas. Mr W. Allison, junr., paid 55 guineas for the Kenilworth—Candagarang coif and 65 for a Sands of Orient—Golden Dawn colt.
