HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. \ “UNCLE TOM’S CABIN.” c “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” and “The Jockey of Death” are, two feature films of more than average merit, which were included with the new programme at His Majesty’s Theatre last night. The first “Uncle Tom’s Cabin/* although, :li£ book, play, and film, tlie this version by the’ Wqrjd: poration brings new light and makes the old story live again. Uncle Tom, Eliza, Little Eva, and the others are living characters, not dead memories, and the story is as fresh and entertaining as when heard first, whilst to the children a new and delightfulfieW*is opened up for - their enjoyment. • “The Jockey of Dcathj” is perhaps one of the most sensational film playg yet screened in New Zealand. A beautiful scenic study of “Seller/’ of the Balcric Archipelago, in - the Mediterranean ; an extremely interesting picture showing the terrible power of asphyxiating gases; a clover and- amusing series of the Edison grouch-chaser’s “Cartoons on Tour,” and the latest ‘ European Gazette,” complete a profgramrae of merit.
