On; Monday, Air Alassey opened the Feilding Freezing Works, which cost over £50,000’ to erect. They have a capacity of 1200 sheep and 00 cattle, per day. Air Alassey reported that the exports for the year to March 131, 191 G, to be as follows Meat, £7,423,399; butter, £2,949,787; cheese, £3,197,800.;. wool, £11,769,297/ The total value of exports for the year was £33,781,711, a record which no country in the world has eqiitlllell‘in 'prbpdrtioll to its! population. Since the inception of the Imperial meat'scheme payments for meat had totalled £8,448,31 1 . Eighty-seven (ships had been, despatched, a fid at present seven insulated ships jwere on the New Zealand, coast and more were arriving. The total capacity of the steamers now on t..e coast and; ,tp- arrive by, the end of June available for the carriage of meat and dairy produce was 2,290,500 freight carcases.
