OFFICIAL NEWS. CALM ON THE VERDUN FRONT. The High Commissioner reports: London, April 13 (5.-U) p.m.). The French official report says: The night was calm iii the whole Verdun region. A German attack was prepared yesterday evening against our positions at Hill 304, but the enemy was unable to leave his trenches as a curtain of fire and artillery bombardment against his columns assembled at Bois de Malencourt prevented operations. There was nothing important on the rest of the. front.
