The death is recorded of Mr John 1). Watson, M.A., headmaster of the Waipawa District High School.

Mrs Ann Batt, a pioneer of Nelson province, died last week at the age of 95 years. She arrived at Nelson in the Olympus in 1842. She leaves four daughters and six sons, 44 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
