TARANAKI WOOL, SKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW SALES NEWTON KING'S REPORT. At my sale of the above on April 4th, I catalogued 98 bales and 180 I sacks wool, 1500 sheepskins, 10 casks land 33 tins tallow } 365 hides and 323 calfskins, to an average attendance of buyers. Wool was, again easier to the extent of Id per lb. Sheepskins were firmer for short to i-wools, and easier by Jd i for woolly skins. Salted pelts advanced 6d to 9d each. Hides advanced !.$d all round and tallow Is 6d per cwt. Prices were: Springing heifers CO 2s Od to £6 15s, fat and forward cows £6 Is to £9 lis, store cows £4 to £5. aged store cows £3, 20 month steers £5 2s, rough 2i year steers £5 18s, hulls £7, .small empty heifers £2 !2s, good. £4 2s, cows and calves £5 17s Gil, weaner heifers 25s to 355, aged ewes Gs. f.m. ewes 16s, late shorn 4 tooth wethers 23s 2d.

| At Rahotu on Tuesday, there was a good entry with good competition, practically everything heing cleared as follows:—Weaner steers £2 9s Gd, weaner heifers 30s to 40s. fat cows £8 10s. forward cows £6 16s to £7 17s Gd, store cows £3 13s to £5 7s Gd, springing heifers £4 7s Gd to £5 ss. In-calf •2\ year heifers £0 12s to £G 17s Gd, in-calf 2 year heifers CI to £4 7s Gd, hulls £1 IDs to CM. 1 I held my opening sale at Inglewood Jon Wednesday, sth inst., when the yards were filled to overflowing with both cattle and sheep, there being a large attendance of buyers and ' competition from start to finish was brisk for nearly all classes of stock, nearly everything being sold at the hammer. Weaner steers, 20 month steers, and cows were in great demand.
