The death is announced to-day by a Melbourne cablegram of Mr John Norton, the well-known newspaper proprietor. A well-attended meeting of the Stratford Branch of the X. 3. Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association wis held or< Saturday afternoon. Mr E. •'■ Kirkwood presided, and among, those present was Mr A. H. Lepper, representing Taranaki on the National Council, After discussing matters ol interest to breeders, it was resolved to invite delegates from Hnwero and New Plymouth centres to confer at Stratford remits to the annual meeting of the Now Zealand Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association to lie held at H.awera in July.
