DEADLY MUSHROOMS. ; : '■ '■ Rotorua, Aprd 7. ! On« Thursday, Mr McCormell Hayes, of Mokai, reported to the police that ono of his children was dead and thai; four others were seriously ill,, and there was no doctor available. Dr. Bertram went (mt from here and found that the children were apparently suffering from acute enteritis. " He ascertained they had eaten raw mushrooms, and they may have eaten fungus, the symptoms being consistent with poisoning. One child (Rene), aged 3 years and 10 months died on Tuesday, and another (Vernon), aged 16 months, died late last night. Two of the others are in a critical condition.
