WILLARD-JOHNSON FIGHT FILM.
The thril that was caused by the news of Jack Johnson's defeat at the hands of Jess Willard is recalled by the announcement that the great fight will be shown upon the screen at the Town Hall on Tuesday, April 11th. Willard fought o'ohn&on for something more than the champion-ship-of the world. He entered the ring to prove that the white race could produce a better fighting man than the black race, and t ne knockout blow that he delivered in the twenty-sixth round echoedj&ver three continents. The big fight, the most famous fistic battle of recent times, is a thing of the past as far as events go, but every moment has been tabulated, every hit as it was f every stop recorded, from the sound of the first gong to the fatal of "out" when Jess Willard, the great cow-puncliing ranger, whose early training of a strenuous life fitted him for the greatest contest of all. rewarded him with the eoveted prize, the championship belt. - •; * • SB ———— £
