MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
TO-DAY'S SITTINC. Mr W. R. Haselden, S.M., presided, at the sitting of the Stratford Magistrate's Court to-day. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. A Whanga resident was charged l with making use of obsence language.. The police constable stationed. at Whanga gave evidence as to accused character. He stated that the man never touched liquor as a rule, but! on this occasion he had taken some' brandy for an illness. The Magistrate imposed a fine of 20s. MOTORING WITHOUT A LIGHT.'; George Collins, who did not appearj was charged with riding a motor cycle at night without a light. fendant was fined 5s and costs 7s. RAILWAY CROSSING CASE. George Sangster, for whom Mr C Wright appeared, was charged with driving a motor car over a level cross* ing while a train was approaching. , Daniel Nolan, signalman, and Driver Bennett, gave evidence as tit the car, N.P. 364, being driven ovel the crossing at about 6.9 p.m. oB January 11. The warning bell and whistle were sounded as usual.
