THE WELLiNGTON RACES. (By Cicero.) The lilies will be unluried at 1 rentham to-moiT.')'.v, when the Autumn meeting of the V/clliiipcton Racing Club will (.pen. T alike many iormei years, the principal handicaps have not drawn the best class of “cattle. Possibly the reason of this may be found in the fact that tlv' meeting is being held before the richly-endowed Riecarton and Ellerslie meetings. However, the horses engaged a l, e a good average lot, and some capital racing should he witnessed. Of the eight acceptors for the •lumpers’ Flat, Multiply stands i" class by himself, but may have diificnlty, under such a high scale, in conceding the weight to Queen’s Post and Ar’ington. Dessert Gold and Nones will meet in the St. Peger. Ihe [her merev. 1 lie hackers of Xonos ate former appears to have the race at simply hoping for the unexpected. XT) less than nineteen figure in the XTirsery fTandieap. Koesian, M eii elaiis, and Winterbourne are nicely handicapped. At present seventeen remain in the Thompson Handicap, hut Robert Bell and Red Ribbon are very doubtful starters. Montana has been hacked for a lot of money, whilst Multiplication Ims also received solid support. Oxenhope, Hydros and Wishful also have supporters, and a capital contest should eventuate. Multiplication, Montana, and Hydras are a likely trio. The meeting of Egypt, The Toll', and Emeprado in the Challenge Siakes should make that event interesting. With a big concession in weight Mr Lowey’s youngster may Tm'ovo more than a match for his older rival. A capital lot of hacks are on gaged in the Silvcrstream Hack. Despite his weight, Chillies can ho depended on to put up a good light, hfylalus and Frau Bonnet may be his most dangerous opponents. Eleven paid up for the Racing Handicap. On performances, Hyginas is remarkably well handicap, but most trouble may come from Sweet Corn. Twenty-four accepted for the Tinakori Hack, Revalenta, Ohiwai and Sea Down should command respect.
