FIRE.

PATEA PRESS IN TROUBLE. Per Press Association. Pa tea, April 4. A fire broke out at 3.30 o’clock this afternoon in the engine-room of the Patea Press. The brigade was quickly on the scene, and the fire was extinguished, but not before the engine and the wharfedalo press were destroyed, The rest of the building and pla.nl were undamaged. The lire brigade, in spite of being handicapped by a limited supply of water, having only a manual engine, did magnificent work. The Press, thanks to the courtesy of the Hawera Star, will he issued as' usual while the building is brfhg repaired.
