The Municipality * gave a. great reception to Mr Asquith at the Capitol, whe#, thei ? e were, present the ehte officials of society and cheering crowds. Mr Asquith 5 in responding to the Mayor's orajidn, said he was the first British. Premier to..be received at the Capitol.;* The law of nations had sprung from Rome's civilising genius, so.the place was the more appropriate to reaffirm the sacredness of Europe's common law. Mr Asquith received a journalists' deputation and attended a dinner at th&;Embassy, at which there was a brilliant assemblage of Ministers and Ambassadors.
