A rink of Xewton (Wellington) bowlers en route to New - Plymouth met Hawera find then Stratford today. The Stratford green was in good order when the match was played this morning. The visitors showed superior play, and won by 29 points to 17. The following were the contestants: Visitors— Crengell, Luke, Manning, Wylie (s) 29 v. J. Masters, Smart, McMillan, Morison (s) 17. The ladies of the district are taking no small part in the proceedings comprising the Soldiers' Day fete in Stratford on Easter Monday, and one of the biggest jobs on hand for that day is the catering, which naturally, only members of the fair sex must manage.
