Melbourne, jjlarch 31. The State Cabinet proposes the further curtailment of racing during the currency of the war. NOVEL RECRUITING METHODS. (Received 9.10 a.m.) Adelaide, March 31. A recruiting train, with the Premier and other legislators and a military baud aboard, is visiting the towns throughout the State and is proving highly successful in increasing the enlistments. EARLY HOTEL CLOSING. (Received 9.20 a.m.) Melbourne. March 31. The Premier states that there are no prospects of an early referendum on the closing of hotels. PROHIBITION OF EXPORT TO CHINA. (Received 9.20 a.m.) Melbourne, March 31. A proclamation prohibits the export of goods to China and Siam, not including Hong Kong, without the consent of the Minister. RECRUITING SATISFACTORY. (Received 9.20 a.m.) Melbourne, March 31. Senator Pearce (Minister of Defence) announces that the Commonwealth has not experienced difficulty in providing reinforcements.
