SENSATION IN WELLINGTON. c j MAN AND GIRL SHOT. ‘ Per Press Association, Wellington, March 27. A shooting ease occurred in the Nairn Street Reserve, beyond Upper Willis Street, to-night, but beyond the fact that the two principals are nn.v in hospital in a serious condition, little is known. A man named Dovoy, said to lie a hairdresser of Eoxton, came to Wellington this week to marry a young woman named Miss .White. The pair went for a walk tlii.-f evening.. .Later, shots were heard in the refefyo, and the ..two were found badly, '.pippin led. The man apparently shot the girl with a revolver and theft shot himself. AN ELTHAMITE’S FATAL ACCIDENT.
Hastings, March 28. I ; Charles Martin, land agent, <0 years of age, while cycling in Heretaunga Street last night, swerved across the road’ ami was knocked:ovftijvhy# a i|«vtur cyclist, who- did*everything possible to HiVpid the Collision. Martin died tins morning as ‘the result ot Ids injuries. He was for many years a resident of Elthani, whore a.t one time lie hold the joint position of stationinaster and postmaster.
