SCHOOL FOR HURIMOANA.
[FROM OVH OWN CKtREBPONWBNT.] A pleasing piece of news was conveyed by Mr R. Masters to the workers on the P.W.D. at H ; urinioiuia,,that the Hon. J. A. Hanan (Minister of Education) had notified him that a grant had been approved for tho erec* tion of a school at Hurimoana. It is largely owing to the untiring efforts made by Mr R. Masters in placing the facts and requirements before the Minister that the grant has been sanctioned. Some time ago, at the request of the workers on the lino, he took the trouble to come out to Hurimoana, interviewed several of k tho parents, and even traversed the roada and got a practical knowledge of the adverse conditions under which the children live regarding education. It is understood that in about six weeks' time the school will be a reality, and, as one of the parents remarked, "not before it was wanted."
